Plateful · Recipe generator

One recipe. Not a thousand.

Browsing is the reason dinner ends up being toast. Answer four quick questions and Plateful commits to a single recipe built around what you feel like and what's actually in the fridge.

Plateful at a glance

Scales as you cook

Change the servings mid-recipe and every quantity updates on the spot. US or metric, switchable any time.

Hands-free cook mode

Step-by-step guidance with a countdown timer on each step, so you never touch the screen with flour on your hands.

Four languages, properly

English, French, Arabic and Spanish — with real right-to-left support, so the whole interface flips for Arabic.

How it works

Four questions to dinner.

1 · Say what you're after

Breakfast or dinner. Quick or no rush. Hot or cold. Then list what you already have, and add a note if you're avoiding gluten or craving something specific.

2 · Get one recipe

Your answers go to an AI model that writes a recipe around them, with a real photo pulled from Pexels or TheMealDB so you can see where you're headed.

3 · Cook it

Set your servings, pick your units, and start cook mode. Timers run per step and the phone stays on the counter.

Pricing

Three days free, then it's a subscription.

Free trial

Three days, on the yearly plan.

  • Everything premium includes
  • Cancel before it ends and you're not charged
  • The weekly plan has no trial

Your data

A recipe app has no business knowing who you are.

No account, no camera, no contacts

Plateful never requests access to your camera, photos, microphone, location or contacts. Settings and saved recipes live on your device and go when the app does.

  • Your questionnaire answers go to the AI service to generate the recipe
  • Routed through OpenRouter to Anthropic's Claude models
  • I run no server and keep no database of your answers
  • Purchases handled by Apple and RevenueCat — card details never reach me
  • Never sold, never used for advertising

Questions

Before you download

How does Plateful decide what to cook?
A short questionnaire — meal type, quick or slow, hot or cold, what you have in, plus any free-text notes like diet or cuisine. Those answers go to an AI model that builds one recipe around them.
Why only one recipe instead of a list?
Choosing is the part that stops people cooking. Plateful commits to one recipe that fits your answers so you can start instead of browse.
Can I change the number of servings?
Any time, mid-recipe. Every quantity updates instantly, and you can switch between US and metric units whenever you like.
What is hands-free cook mode?
Step-by-step guidance with a countdown timer attached to each step, so you can follow along without touching the phone.
Which languages does it support?
English, French, Arabic and Spanish. Arabic gets full right-to-left support — the whole interface flips, not just the text.
Is it free?
There is no free tier. The yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial; the weekly plan does not. Premium is $4.99 a week or $39.99 a year, billed by Apple.
